Camley Street Nature Park

One of the best examples of nature conservation combined with community involvement is the story of Camley Street Nature Park in Kings Cross, salvaged from development into a car park it is a haven for inner city wildlife and a destination for enthusiasts, schools, parents and children and those just wishing to escape the concrete jungle alike. What strikes you when visiting is despite being aware of the proximity to the surrounding hustle and bustle of the city life it wonderful diversity shines through and lets you forget.    It is a great testament to the posssibilites of what can be acheived to encourage greater movement of species of flora and fauna into the cites,  and enable people to experience and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature, such as seeing a butterfly beat its wings before your eyes, a scene which unfortunately is all too scarce nowadays.
